Student Ministry Winter Retreat

STBC Student Ministry will be partnering with Grace Community Church and Redemption City Church for a winter weekend retreat focused on discipleship.

This retreat is not just the normal retreat, but is made up of the following 3 components:

  1. Discipleship Oriented
The Disciple Now weekend places a high premium on discipleship.  There will be Large Group sessions, held at Grace Community Church, where a speaker will move the weekend’s theme along from a big-picture perspective.  There will be very intentional Small Group times, where students go deeper with their individual small group leaders.  It’s a focused time of spiritual growth and application.
  2. Host Homes & Small Groups
“Host Homes” will be a key feature of the Disciple Now weekend.  Families within Strong Tower Bible Church will host a gender/age-based Small Group for the weekend.  Students will meet in the host home for Bible Study that will be lead either by the host home or a small group leader.  They’ll spend 2 nights and will eat a few meals with the host home family.  It will be an AMAZING opportunity for a greater portion of our church to be involved with the Student Ministry.
  3. Service Opportunities
While giving students a chance to just hang out and enjoy each other’s company definitely has its place, the participating churches have dedicated time on Saturday to serving in the community.  There will be several service projects that the students will engage in throughout the community.  This puts an even greater emphasis on discipleship and helps students understand the importance of living out their faith.
