Charlene has worked in ministry in various forms since high school. She was active in her church youth group and college ministry and graduated with a degree in Biblical Languages. She met her husband Jon in college and he pastored churches in Tennessee, Texas, and Michigan.
She previously worked with students and alumni at Union University and Dallas Theological Seminary before becoming a stay at home mom. Charlene and her husband Jon, who is an elder at Strong Tower, have been married for twenty-six years and have three children.
They officially became members of STBC in 2021 and Charlene began working there in 2024. She is grateful to get to use her love of organizing and administration at STBC.
She and her husband love serving families together by helping them understand their stories and finding true healing. They’ve had many people live with them over the years and have always desired to create safe spaces for people to experience the love of the Father.

Favorite Quote: "May all your expectations be frustrated, may all your plans be thwarted, may all your desires be withered into nothingness, that you may experience the powerlessness and poverty of a child and sing and dance in the love of God who is the Father, Son and Spirit” - Brennan Manning
What do you do for fun?: I enjoy being with family, cooking, baking and organizing. I love making our home a space for people to come and rest.
What brings you the most fulfillment in ministry: It doesn’t get any better than seeing people experience healing from their past, understand who they are in Christ and move forward in health to the life God has for them.
