Whole and Holy: Disability, Identity and the Church
My Body is not a Prayer Request: Disability Justice in the Church, By Amy Kenny
Facilitators: Dr. Mona Ivey-Soto & Elder Jon Kever
What does it mean to be made in the image of God (imago dei) in a body or mind that the world often labels as broken or inferior? This class explores the intersection of disability and Christian faith, examining how Scripture, theology, and church practice speak to — and are shaped by — the experiences of disabled people. Together we will wrestle with questions of healing, suffering, belonging, and what it truly means to be the whole body of Christ. This class invites everyone to the table and ensures that the lived experiences of disabled people will be centered and amplified.
